Using your Multiple Choice block to filter or segment your results
When a participant selects an answer in a Multiple Choice question on your survey, they are automatically tagged into a group that you can later use to filter your results and compare segments. For example, this could let you compare what's most important to your Free users versus your Premium customers. For more info, check out our guide to segmentation on OpinionX.
How do I change Multiple Choice blocks to allow multiple answers?
By default, respondents can only pick one answer. If you want to let participant select many options, just hit the settings icon (⚙️) to view the block settings menu and enable the "Allow Multiple Answers" setting.
Can I let participants write in their own "Other" option?
Yes! OpinionX has a premium feature that lets you show an "Other" option at the bottom of your list which turns into a textbox when selected. This can be enabled via the block settings menu (⚙️) during your Multiple Choice question setup.
The best alternative for free-tier users is to add a Text Response block directly after your Multiple Choice question if you want to collect custom other answers like this.
