The Multiple Choice block is a simple way to collect data from participants on OpinionX, consisting of a question and a set of options for participants to select from.

  • Each option has a 180 character limit.

  • There is no limit to the number of options you can include.

  • Participants see options in the order that they are shown on the setup block.

  • You can reorder the options by clicking the drag-and-drop to the left of the text.

Using your Multiple Choice block to segment your ranked results

The Multiple Choice results allow you to recalculate your stack ranking to include only the participants that selected a specific answer. For example, this could let you compare what's most important to your Free users versus your Premium customers. For more info, check out our guide to segmentation on OpinionX.

How do I change Multiple Choice blocks to allow multiple answers?

By changing the "Allow multiple" toggle in the bottom right hand corner of the Multiple Choice setup block, you can decide whether participants are allowed to select just one or multiple of the available options. By default, this toggle is set to single-select.

How can I include an "Other" option that collects written responses?

When setting up the Multiple Choice block, you can add an "Other" write-in option in two ways:

  1. Click the "include "Other" write in" button that's visible on the Multiple Choice card during survey setup.

  2. Click the settings icon (⚙️) on the Multiple Choice setup card and enable the "Add Other Option" checkbox.
