Ranking questions are voting methods that help measure and rank a list of options. OpinionX has a range of different ranking methods:

Hovering over a ranking type will show you an example and explanation for each method. Use this cheat sheet to pick the right method. If in doubt, start with Order Rank — it's the most popular ranking method! Add all your ranking options to this block and customize the configuration as needed.

OpinionX surveys are anonymous by default. To see who has completed your survey, you must collect identifiable data like an email address, name, or ID number:

If you already have this data in a spreadsheet or database, you can avoid asking unnecessary survey questions by using the Enrichment Tab to associate this data associate it against each participant automatically.

The most common question people have after running their survey is — do the results change depending on which group I look at, like comparing male vs female participants, or free users vs paying customers? Comparing these groups is very easy — if you included a Multiple Choice question in your survey.

Clicking any Multiple Choice bar chart will filter your results to only include that group. You can also compare multiple groups at the same time using the Compare Tab or Segments Tab, but these only work if you include a Multiple Choice question!

First impressions count! Avoid sending participants to a blank page with just a "Start" button by customizing your survey's welcome page. You'll find the Welcome Page at the top of your Survey Setup tab:

Before sending your survey to participants, hit the 'Preview' icon (👁) in the top-right corner and see how it will look for participants:

This button will open 'preview mode' for your survey in a new tab, where you'll find the "Edit Theme" button for customizing the styling and theme for your survey:

Once your survey is good to go, hit the SHARE button in the top-right corner and choose how you'll distribute your survey:

If you're working on this research with colleagues, open the Settings Tab and add them as Editor or Viewer collaborators. Your survey has unlimited Viewer seats for accessing the interactive results:
